We need a loving home...

Each year, millions of dogs and cats are killed in our nation’s shelters. But it doesn’t have to be that way. An estimated 17 million people will add a new pet to their families this year. If more of them would choose to adopt a pet, instead of buying one, we could reduce the number of animals killed in shelters significantly.

About Cora
This is Cora. She is approximately 2 years old, silver female tabby and bursting with personality. She found her way to an office complex, it was determined she was lost, no one was looking for her or just looking for a warm place for the winter. She is funny, has so much energy, she can clear a room in 2 seconds. You should see her scale a cat tree. She would do very well in a family with children. She would love the attention and would love having her own family. Cora deserves to have her own home, her own family. She is fully vetted and available for adoption.

About Aspen
I walked out into my catio one Sunday morning with the cats. The trees on the land behind my back fence barely had any leaves on them. About 2 stories up in a Cottownwood tree something caught my eye. I looked a little closer and realized that it was a cat. I attempted to talk the cat down several times, but she was too afraid to come down. I spent the majority of the day posting on Facebook for help getting her down from the tree. I contacted several tree services and an Arborist and was unable to locate anyone that was willing to help the cat. The cat was getting very stressed and dehydrated. Our Co-Director, Melanie who is 62 years old came over and climbed the tree to rescue the cat. Melanie named her Aspen. Aspen was so happy that Melanie came to rescue her. She just let Melanie hold her in one arm while she climbed down the tree with the other one. She did not so much as scratch Melanie on the way down from that tree. We believe that Aspen was chased up the tree by coyotes. We attempted to find her owners, but no one came forward for her. She absolutely LOVES little boys. She will immediately come up to them and want them to pet her. I feel like she had a little boy that once loved her and cared for her. I have to say that Aspen is the sweetest most gentle cat that I have ever met. I believe that she would do well in any home environment however, I would hesitate to put her in a home with dogs after her incident with the coyotes. The vet says that Aspen is approximately 2 years old. Aspen is a love bug and she is anxiously awaiting her new family who I know will spoil her just like she deserves to be.
